- [COVID-19 Update](https://mrtr.org/covid-19-update/): COVID-19 Update April 8, 2020 Hello friends, The current status of our world is uncertain due to the COVID-19 virus, but we with the MRTR want to communicate that we will do everything in our power to stage this year’s race.  The US Forest Service has recently closed most trailheads in the local National Forests until September 30th, or until furthur noctice.  We are hopeful that the trails will be able to open prior to that date. February 7, 2019 McKenzie River Trail Run is now an Oregon non-profit organization filing for federal tax exempt status!  We are excited to formalize our status as an organization dedicated to supporting organizations in the Upper McKenzie Community. - [Celebrating 32 Years](https://mrtr.org/celebrating-32-years/): Celebrating 32 Years November 1, 2018 Much like the past few years, the first trail run was plagued by wildfires and officially canceled by the Forest Service. However, 5 friends (behaving like typical Ultra Runners) decided to run the course anyway and thus began the oldest continuously run ultra marathon in Oregon. For a period of time the run boasted 50 miles to Paradise, ending at the Paradise campground. It later realized that no one wanted to go to Paradise and the run was shortened to 50K. By Bill Sharp

The entry fee now includes the price of the shuttle from the McKenzie Community Track to the start as well as from the finish back to the Community Track.
